Course Project¶
Students will complete an open-ended project applying machine learning techniques to the AWR1843AOP radar platform or another RF system of their choice in groups of up to 4. The project must have the following elements:
- A machine learning component (i.e., a data-driven algorithm) must be used to perform some task; training and fine-tuning is encouraged, but not required.
- The project must involve the team working with a real RF system, either for data collection and/or deployment. In other words, projects must either collect some data, demonstrate their model running on a real system, or ideally, both!
Project Proposal¶
Your proposal should answer the following questions:
- Context & Problem Statement: What are you trying to accomplish? Why are you trying to accomplish this?
- Goals & Non-Goals: What are you trying to accomplish? Why are you trying to accomplish this?
- Proposed Solution or Methodology: If you are seeking to solve a particular problem or build a system, what is your approach and technical solution? On the other hand, if you are seeking to answer a research question, how do you plan to do so?
- Alternatives Considered: What other approaches or solutions did you consider, and why did you choose the one you proposed?
- Evaluation & Outcomes: How will you evaluate the success of your project? What are the expected outcomes and how will you measure them?
Please use the proposal template. Make sure to tag all of your team members as authors and mark as "in review" before submitting!
Info
The project proposal should be no more than 1000 words total.
Tip: use Ctrl+Shift+C to count words in Google Docs. Note that this limit applies to the total word count, including the proposal template itself.
